Rendered MotorCox Consulting is owned and operated by David Cox.  David is an independent consultant specializing in mechanical design and analysis of products and processes.  Cox Consulting prides itself in providing thorough and accurate deliverables by spending time with the client to fully understand the challenges they face and how to provide the best solution possible.

David, a native of Stockton, Alabama, knew at an early age he wanted to be an engineer.  Through the years, he has worked on a variety of personal and professional projects ranging in size from a simple component selection, to projects spanning months and costing millions of dollars.  In addition to his work, David enjoys spending time with his family and is an avid outdoorsman.  He is active in his church and also serves as the District 1 Representative of the Baldwin County Board of Education.

Cox Consulting will handle projects of any size and is well versed in product design, structural analysis, fluid flow analysis, and regulatory approvals.  Approximately half of the design projects it works on must be approved by a third party regulatory body.  Cox Consulting has designed products and systems to meet the requirements of ASME, ABS, USCG, API, DNV, and more.  David has also assisted clients in qualifying weld procedures to many of those regulatory authorities.

Autodesk products are used for computer aided design and analysis.  The primary design suite utilized is Autodesk Inventor Product Design Suite Professional, which includes Inventor, AutoCad, Showcase, and 3dMax.  The Inventor suite allows for the creation of parametric digital prototypes to shop drawings quickly and easily throughout the entire product life cycle.  Cox Consulting also owns seats of Autodesk Simulation Mechanical and Simulation CFD, which allows more advanced finite element analyses for clients when necessary.  The simulation packages are capable of  performing linear and non-linear structural, thermal, and fluid flow analyses for virtually any scenario, or combination of scenarios.
